Was Prey worth the time?

Prey (2022) is a great movie and one that should have been seen in a theatre. However, Prey was only released via online streaming. It's a great experience to watch it with the Native American dub. Dan Trachtenberg, the director, is eager to show off with a grab-bag of modern visual ideas and sturdy action choreography, and it aligns perfectly with the survivalist sensibility of the first movie. This is a far cry form the unsettling (link here) feeling of John McTiernan’s movie. It is filled to bursting with images of the forest, and the soundtrack as well as sound design enhance the experience of being fully immersed. Amber Midthunder plays Naru and gives a performance that is mostly unspoken. From the opening scene to the final act, her facial expressions and quick gestures set the rhythms and pace of the film. This is horrifying! It's fantastic to see the Predator making a significant comeback.
